The two videos Packard Plant og Zug Island focus on leftover details and human conditions in the decaying city of Detroit, Michigan.
Even though today the main reasons for the city’s decline are rooted in racial issues and technological changes to automobile manufacturing these close-ups shots (videos) of car plant architecture represent the rationality and urbanization of modernity.
The videos too, are part of a larger research project about how the refining of rationality and urbanization cause alienation through decay.
The sound composition is made of found sound recordings from old factories.
